Proposal: To form an advisory committee to provide an additional method of bringing proposals to the FSMA Board of Directors from the component associations and enlarging the input from specified geographic areas of the state.
Each component association would be represented by four attendees: the FSMA representative and three people appointed by the component association board to represent the remaining three geographic areas defined in the FSMA Bylaws, Article 2. Association executive directors will be welcome to attend, in addition to the four designees.
The committee would be chaired by a member of the FSMA Executive Committee or Executive Director.
Expenses shall be divided between the component associations and FSMA equally.
The committee will meet annually in a summer month, timed prior to the summer component board meetings, so that reports will follow in a timely manner.
The meeting should convene at 1 p.m. on the first day and conclude at 4 p.m. of the second.
Issues to be considered for discussion should be submitted to the FSMA Executive Director approximately 30 days prior to the meeting date.
Rationale: An Advisory Committee will provide a visible source of input to the FSMA Board from the component associations and enlarge the geographic representation of the component associations to the FSMA Board, as well as providing an additional interaction and discussion among the component associations.
