Hello to all!
The Florida Music Supervision Association exists to assist music educators throughout Florida, not just those fortunate enough to have an arts administrator in their school district. The FMSA is a "brain trust' consisting of some of Florida's most talented music educators. Among our goals is to to serve as problem solvers; our membership has a unique blend of experiences in both the elementary and secondary levels.
In these days of uncertainty and change in music education, it is important to stay abreast of issues, and to know who to talk to when you have questions. The FMSA addresses many issues such as curriculum design, recruitment and retention strategies, implementation of the Next Generation Sunshine State Strandards, and student assessment, among others, and we are available to assist you in any way possible.
The FMSA is also a valuable resource for future music educators! We annually conduct two "Meet the Supervisors" sessions at the NAfME Collegiate Conference in October and at the FMEA Clinic Conference in January. if you are seeking employment, or would like advice on resume design or interviewing strategies, please feel free to contact us.
Many thanks for all you do for music education in Florida!
