Florida Collegiate MENC
Presidents Welcome
Greetings
I hope everyone had a successful semester and are ready to take a break to enjoy the upcoming holidays. For those of you who are nearing graduation I wish you the very best as you get closer to the teaching world and for those who graduated in December, congratulations and good luck!
This semester has been full of activities as we have been preparing for the January FMEA Conference. I never thought there would be so much to do prior to January. I have to take a moment and thank the state board for all of their work in the preplanning for Tampa. I look forward to what looks to be a wonderful Conference! If you have not registered for the conference I encourage you to do so during the holidays as well as making your hotel reservations. I would also like to remind you that we are nearing our annual elections for the state board. I ask that you please take a moment and consider working on the board for next year. This board has taken great steps towards a better organized, unified and serving organization. FCMENC has amazing potential but it depends on the participation of all of you as members and as dedicated state board members. Please check out the applications available to you under our Up-to Date section. Make sure you follow all of the steps and provide all of the requested information on each application. Please note that if you are interested in running for President Elect you must be able to serve for three consecutive years so make sure you are not close to graduating.
In case you have not already seen the conference schedule I would like to point that our annual general meetings will be held Thursday evening and Saturday morning at the Marriott Waterside Hotel directly across the street from the Convention Center. We will not be having our meetings in the conference center this year. As mentioned in the FLMD I am very excited to announce that our second annual Presidents Forum will be held the Wednesday before the Conference. I have contacted the chapter Presidents for whom we have information and are happy to say that almost all of the Presidents contacted will be attending. I envision this annual event will become an increasingly important part of this organization’s planning for the future.
I look forward to seeing all of you in Tampa!
Respectfully
David Verdoni
FCMENC President
